ROBERT COUTURIER has maintained a place at the top of his profession for decades. His name, included in Architectural Digest’s prestigious annual list of the best decorators and architects in the world, is synonymous with continental and international style. To the deep understanding of the classical he acquired at Ecole Camondo in his native Paris, Couturier adds his unique brand of wit and whimsy. His design heroes remain a jaunty lot: Renzo Mongiardino, Charles LeBrun, Serge Roche, Robsjohn Gibbings, Robert Mallet Stevens, and Jean Michel Frank to name a few. Couturier believes however, above all else, decor must be appropriate to the clients, the architecture, and the setting.

Robert is respected worldwide for his connoisseurship, imagination, and experimentation. Architectural Digest proclaims, “Many in the design field consider themselves mix masters, but interior decorator and architect Robert Couturier’s adventurous spirit and in-depth knowledge of antiques result in the most astounding combinations…[the] Paris-born, Manhattan-based talent can delight and enlighten while breaking all the rules.”

Robert Couturier Inc. has been named to the AD100 Hall of Fame and Elle Decor’s A-List Titans. His work has been featured widely in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, The World of Interiors, House & Garden, Verandah, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Town & Country, The New York Times, Forbes, and Cottages & Gardens.
